The mission of the Food Center at Morrisville Presbyterian Church is to feed the hungry in our community, provide resource materials to address other needs, and to do so in a caring and respectful manner as our Faith has called us to do.

The Food Center is one of the few food distribution centers in this area that helps folks in need. We have been distributing food to the local Morrisville, PA and Trenton, NJ area for decades – first at a rate of 10-12 families a month up to our current food distribution rate serving more than 6,000 households, representing more than 12,000 people in 2008.

Of those families we helped in 2008, 30% were children, 15% were seniors, 30% of our clients were disabled, 11% of our client base was employed and another 10% was receiving unemployment benefits. Our volunteers packed and distributed nearly 7,500 bags of groceries enough so that each family that sought our help would have nutritious food for 3-4 days. And with the current state of the economy, we are projecting more need for the coming year of 2009.

The Food Center at MPC is here to help our community and, with grace, respect the dignity of each person who seeks our help. This is a major outreach mission of Morrisville Presbyterian Church. However, we cannot continue to help folks on our own as our communities face ever increasing needs for food. We need you to help us to help others.

There are many ways folks from our surrounding communities can step up to help. As you browse through our web site, please keep these ever increasing needs in the forefront of your minds. Then stop at our Help Us Help Others page and join our cause to help prevent hunger in the local community.
